Job Description
As a General Manager, Finance and Accounting, you play a critical role in supporting the Sky India business in ensuring that our financial goals are met, that management has visibility into future expected financial performance and that the financial processes are sound and in compliance with IFRS accounting standards as well as internal guidelines. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate financial reporting, are continuously looking for ways to improve financial results while at the same time maintain or reduce risk to the business and support a broad range of business development and mergers & acquisition activities in India. Your strong focus on working capital management ensures that ambitious cash flow targets are met or exceeded. You work actively with the local finance team as well as your HQ team in delivering reliable, accurate and timely management information You will work in a highly dynamic and international environment that requires a high degree of flexibility, commitment and adaptability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
-Ensure that Finance teams are providing month end closing and all other required management reports
-Work with the Finance Managers to provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals within the pan India business.
-To ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial results (HFM)
-Prepare capital reviews as required by the CFO and/or Accounting and Finance Departments
-Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximise impact and efficiency
-Ensure the balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the business
-Lead monthly finance update meetings with the CFO and business leads
-Review regularly the balance sheets, ensure reconciliations are performed of all units controlled accounts and explain all balances even if reconciled elsewhere
-Assist Heads of the Department to improve their financial awareness and provide them with relevant financial information for their operations
-Leading general accounting, month -end close and reconciliations of Capital spend, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting packs with commentary for all Capex spend categories Coordinating closely with Department Heads in Finance to ensure quality and timeliness of delivery.
-Lead projects to maximize management information system for financial reporting in the Division; Implementation of SAP etc.,.
-Responsible for the consolidation and financial reporting to the Division.
-Participate in core team in planning and implementation of Shared Expertise Centre in HQ.
-Comply with gategroup policies and procedures across the division.
Qualifications
Education:
-Relevant degree, MBA in Finance or related business discipline from reputed Universiy
Work Experience:
-A minimum of 10 years of experience in related industries/positions, ideally with leadership experience in the finance function and business controlling environment
Job Skill:
-Organisation, planning skills and the ability to prioritise
-Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
-Negotiation and influencing skills
-Effective management skills (upwards and downwards) and the willingness to coach and train others
-Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
-Proven track record, preferably in a medium to large multinational company in regional or group function.
-Very strong financial analysis background to be able to identify critical decision making factors quickly.
-Solid accounting understanding in order to guide the division on important financial accounting questions.
-Practical experience in the area of treasury, debt financing or mergers & acquisitions are a plus.
-Must demonstrate a very high level of integrity and honesty
-Be able to roll-up the sleeves and have a hands-on mentality while keeping the overview and never loosing sight of the overall objective of the division.
-Be able to handle multiple parallel assignments under time pressure and structure work accordingly.
-Motivates and leads a team to achieve ambitious goals.
-Be eager, driven, pro-active, and able to work with very little supervision. Demonstrate a very high level of adaptability to an ever changing business environment.
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses and Registration)’
-Chartered Accountant
-Good Microsoft Office Skill
Language / Communication Skills:
-Excellent communications and presentation skills in order to effectively bring across the essence of the financial performance, a new project or the financial projections of the division to senior management.
-Very good interpersonal skills are a must as this function requires a high level of communication and interaction with other senior management members across the organization, often under time pressure and having to deal with conflict of interests/goals
