Key Objective / Purpose of Job:
Experienced Senior Network Security Specialist to be part of TCTS Managed Services. The role is to design, implement, provision/decommission, migrate and operate the security solutions for global customers. The ability to develop and present solutions to leadership and technical teams. Additionally the role is to assess risks imposed by technical architecture and advise clients of security standards, best practice and recommendations to address any risk
Major Activities:
• Production of detailed designs for managed service solutions and managed infrastructure security. Designs are produced to a level of detail such that they can be fully implemented and supported. These designs will include wide- and local-area networks, server architecture, firewalls, shared storage and the logical security elements of the complete solution. The outputs will include, but not be limited to, the following:
o Detailed network diagram showing the architecture and associated traffic flows
o Solution design including IP addressing, routing, LAN configuration, load-balancing,
o Firewall Policies, VPN configuration and Address Translations
• Provide assistance and support on architectural/technical issues to other team members as required to achieve overall benefits for the delivery of services to the customer. Share technical knowledge and experiences.
• Migrate the existing network security solutions to next generation standards by configuring the devices as per design, and hardening the architecture
• Understanding of networking and security product best practices. Capable of debugging and resolving complex network security problems.
• Well versed in multiple technology areas; continuously learning new skills where required
• Liaison with end Customers to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved
• Own, maintain and develop Network & Security build documentation & configuration guides
• Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, multitask and deliver timely and quality outputs right first time
Essential Qualifications:
• Minimum 6 years’ experience with Firewall, UTM, IDS/IPS solutions and technologies
• Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration and operation of high-end firewall appliances, ideally Palo Alto Networks products
• Extensive background in internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies required
• Experience in using Palo Alto Migration tool and installation, configuration and supporting Palo Alto firewalls.
Technical
• Minimum CCNA, CCNA-Sec, Palo Alto ACE certification, Palo Alto CNSE certified (desirable)
• Experience with Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper (Netscreen), Fortinet products a plus
• Understanding of Threat and Risk analysis methodologies/techniques and the interpretation/application of their output in the definition of Security Architectures.
Functional
• Must have working experience with Firewall, VPN, Load balancers.
• Extensive background in internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies required
• Strong experience with Security (IPSEC / SSL-VPN / NAT / GRE)
• Strong experience in Routing & Switching (OSPF / BGP / VLAN / STP)
• Experience with Authentication Protocols a plus (Radius / TACACS)
• Experience of designing and implementing Security Solutions through to operation, experience of multi-supplier/multi-platform environments would be advantageous
