Application Engineer – Rail segment150001IJ






Description


 Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks. Assist in developing technical specifications, implementing designs, and to deliver high performance, low-cost equipment or system results integrated with customers’ products. Interfaces with sales, manufacturing, and marketing teams to design and deliver solutions.
Uses prescribed and innovative methods, and works with limited guidance.
Participates as a team member and actively contributes towards team goals.
Carries out partially defined and moderately complex tasks.
Demonstrates good understanding and applies knowledge of an engineering discipline.
Applies engineering and/or scientific skills and continues to develop experience in creating engineering solutions.

Skills


Installation Quality Assurance (IQA) (Engine) – Some understanding of installing a product correctly in any interfacing application. How should test and quality tools/processes be used to support end customer satisfaction.


Installation Systems – Cooling (Engine) – A component understanding of engine cooling systems and how they affect a products use. Knows some things must be followed to maintain a system. Aware that guidelines exist that drive installation requirements for the cooling system.


Installation Systems – Electronic (Engine) – Completed Electronic Basics training and understands system design requirements for basic electronic functions and devices. Able to identify correct technical package documentation and able to provide to OEM or customer.


Analyze Issues – Solid understanding of how to analyze issues. Demonstrates use of analysis skills to learn and analyze information in a timely way. Understands complex concepts and problems and identifies how they relate to key processes. Applies accurate logic in solving problems. Differentiates what is critical and what is important while not getting bogged down in details.


Project Management – Has a good understanding of and effectively applies project management techniques in low to moderately complex projects.

Education, Licenses, Certifications


College, University, or equivalent degree in Engineering required.

Experience


Minimal relevant experience desired, such as internship, co-op, or other pertinent work experience.
