Job Description

·          Low level C coding for microcontrollers 

·          Microcontrollers – ideally ARM Cortex  M3 / M4 / R4, but other small microcontroller architectures acceptable e.g. PIC, AVR, TMS, LPC series.

·          Work with “embedded Linux” does not count toward this, as it requires megabytes of memory, with dynamic allocation – Our apps typically have ~100kbytes of RAM for everything.

·          Also, work with ARM 9 / 11,  Cortex A9 & other high memory / high speed devices is not particularly relevant

·          Writing code for register level access to peripherals

 Knows how to use an oscilloscope, logic analyzer

·          Desirable – can follow basic things on a schematic diagram – e.g. find what pin is connected to an LED.

·          Experience with Bluetooth (Especially Bluetooth Low Energy)

·          Experience with RTOSs / Network Stacks

·          Ideal:  ThreadX, NetX, FreeRTOS, LwIP

·          Some other examples: Nucleus, Nucleus Net, QNX, eCos, µC/OS, RTX

·          Experience with Wi-Fi

·          Network protocols from Ethernet frames upward (Especially Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, DHCP, HTTP, DNS)

·          Knowledge of hardware protocols like SDIO, SPI, I2C, I2S, JTAG

·          Knowledge of cryptography – especially TLS, Diffie–Hellman, Enterprise Security
