Guardium Database Security Engineer – Compute Services–150002614
Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery. The advertised position is within the Platform as a Service (PaaS) team that is part of the Compute Services organization. PaaS works in conjunction with other technology towers and LoBs to ensure that database technologies are deployed around a set of standards and best practices that is integrated with a managed service offering.
In order to meet regulatory requirements and specifically address controls around privileged user access, a Database Activity Monitoring service (DAM) is being setup. The service infrastructure will be built using the Guardium tool from IBM, with critical production applications being on-boarded in a phased approach.
The PaaS group is looking for an engineer with significant Guardium experience deploying and maintaining a large firmwide infrastructure. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of database security & compliance standards and the impact that they have on the business. They will also be expected to engage with lines of businesses, so a mix of hard technical skills and soft comunication skills is essential.
Your focus will be on the Guardium infrastructure and responsibilities will include the following:
- Liase with Cyber Security and Lines of Business on functional requirements
- Design and test resiliant and scalable Guardium Infrastructure
- Develop and implement automated deployment methods
- Develop and implement Guardium monitoring polcies
- Develop and implement Guardium healthchecks & operational reports
- Develop and implement Guardium reports and corresponding workflows
- Work closely with the Guardium operations team.
Good written and verbal communication is an important part of the role as you will be expected to provide regular updates to senior management, LoB stakeholders and the broader database community.
- Significant prior experience with Database Security standards and leading change
- Extensive knowledge of either Guardium.
- 1-3+ years of DB experience (one or more of Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2 UDB)
- 1-3+ years of experience in the financial services sector
- Led (or significant contribution to) roll-out of database acivity monitoring infrastructure across a large organization ( > 2000 servers)
- Good understanding of distributed computing technologies including server hardware, operating systems, networks & storage.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate cross-technology & cross-tower initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communications.
