Systems and Network Administrator- Colorado Springs- contract to hire- 80K
DISYS is seeking an IT professional with experience in production server support, virtualization and some networking experience for a job with a great company in Colorado Springs. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a great team tasked with supplying internal support and maintenance on their infrastructure.
Technical environment includes: VMWare, Windows Server, Citrix, preferably some cisco experience.
The Infrastructure Support team monitors, supports, and maintains the company’s technical infrastructure to ensure continued availability, stability and performance. This includes daily monitoring of the production environment, timely communication of issues to employees and IT management, and analysis of problems or malfunctions to ensure timely resolution. Jobs in this family perform proactive and preventive tasks such as capacity planning, replacement of equipment as it approaches the end of its useful life, and patch management to avoid problems that could adversely affect the production environment. Positions in this family also participate in the coordination of corrective actions as appropriate to ensure the operational integrity of all changes to the environment. They may also partner with IT colleagues as necessary to install new systems and revise processes.
Daily monitoring of the production environment, timely communication of issues to employees and IT management, 24×7 support of system/network/telecom, disaster recovery testing/execution, administration of security controls, software compliance, access management, IT system procurement, and analysis of problems or malfunctions to ensure timely resolution.
• Provides 7 x 24 IT infrastructure support as part of the regular on-call rotation.
• Performs complex troubleshooting, choosing from among a large number of different procedures to find a solution.
• Repairs, upgrades and provides preventative maintenance on a variety of technical platforms.
• Maintains and updates existing documentation and standard operating procedures. Develops and recommends new procedures where necessary.
• Tracks and reports on metrics, SLAs.
• Monitors problem logs and records.
• Participates in Disaster Recovery testing and execution.
• Performs proactive capacity planning.
• May direct more junior team members in the context of an assignment. Assumes a shift lead role, as required.
• Forms productive relationships with internal customers by listening, clarifying and responding effectively to solve problems. Effectively probes users to determine the actual nature, or underlying cause, of a user problem.
• Forms productive networks with colleagues and vendors, if required, to expedite recovery from an out of service condition.
Position Requirements: Minimum formal education required for this position: – Typical candidates will possess 4+ years of relevant experience or BS in a technical field or equivalent (e.g. in lieu of BS Degree, this position requires additional 4 years working experience or 2 yr Associate’s Degree plus 2 years working experience).
